ISO: Looking for Grandmother's recipe for a Chocolate skillet dessert
Misc.My mother has told me of a dessert that my grandmother used to make when my mother was a little girl. Mama said the grandmama would use cold cooked bisquits from breakfast. Mama said that grandmama would mix up the chocolate part in a skillet on the stove. She said she remembered her using cocoa for sure. I asked her if it was like a chocolate bread pudding and she said no, that the chocolate was more like a thin frosting and she said after the chocolate was poured on the bisquits grandmama would bake it for a while and she said that the top would crack like dried mud does. Mama said she thought that was the most wonderful dessert in the world. She said they were so broke back then that anything like that was extra special for them. She was the baby of the kids. Has anyone got any idea of what this dessert might be? I have wrote down some ideas but mama keeps saying that it doesn't sound right. I am hoping that someone else will remember this dessert and let me know. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
