ISO: Mexican Cheese Cake??

Misc.
My mom works with a sweet mexican woman who makes this cake in a double sheet cake pan, then bakes it in a water bath. She then cools the cake and cuts it in half. Puts fresh strawberries on top of one half and then puts on a glaze (strawberry). Then whip cream. Then she puts the other half on top and frosts the whole thing with whip cream. It is fabulous. We try to get the recipe, but she speaks no english. We have tryed and we just cant understand what she means. We know it has cream cheese in it but dont know what kind. might be a mexican kind or plain philladelphia cream cheese. But it doesnt have the strong cream cheese taste. All we now is she calls it Mexican Cheese. Any one have the recipe. Any latins out ther that can help me. Thank you
