ISO: Pickled eggs in beet juice turned brown

Misc.
I've tried to make pickled eggs from the brine left over from pickled beets. The eggs turn medium brown. I tried it again without adding the cinnamon sticks. the eggs still turned brown. Is there a recipe that makes the pickled eggs a nice rosey color and not brownish.
