ISO: ronco food dehydrator directions and recipes

Hi,
I purchased a ronco food dehydrator at a garage sale this past weekend for $3.00. I can't wait to use it, but it didn't come with directions or recipes. I bought a fresh pineapple to try, but I'm not sure how thin or thick to slice, well I'm not sure about anything, and I definitly don't want to mess this up. Any and all help will be appreciated..I'm a single mom of 5 kids and can't afford to ruin the fruits. As well, does anyone leave them plugged in during the day if no one is home?
