ISO: swedish meatballs

Misc.
my mom always said (although she was German, that authentic Swedish Meatballs were made with either nutmeg or allspice and i have not been able to find a recipe to support this. i do make them with allspice, as i feel this gives them a different flavor than regular meatballs. i've also been told that swedish meatballs are not served in a cream gravy but, in a brown gravy. help me! i need to know how these are made. this has been a dispute among the cooks, (each making their own recipe) i would like a standardized recipe that they need to follow.
