ISO: Viennese bon bon ribbons

Misc.
This was my mother's recipe, my and my children's favorite, and in the midst of making them this Christmas, I lost the recipe (and my mother no longer is with us). The recipe features 6 thin layers (made with egg yolk, butter, flour, sugar, then whipped egg whites, spread thinly upside down on jelly roll pan, then cut in 2 - you do that 3x), then alternating layers of apricot preserves, spread over with a mix of sour cream and chopped walnuts, and currant jelly, spread over with the same (5 layers), topped with white icing and colored sprinkles, cut into thin "bars." I'd love to get the exact ingredients for the thin layers - the rest I can figure out! [I've searched various terms and can't locate the recipe online.) This isn't necessarily a holiday cookie, but it's always been a holiday cookie for our family.
