Anybody on the site trying the South Beach Diet?
Misc.Wondering if anyone had any thoughts. We bought the book yesterday and started the diet today. I was not overly impressed with the book, it seemed contradictory in places...ie: it says avoid all dairy during the first phase but you can have cheese and some of the recipes for that phase include milk in the ingredient list. The first recipe I tried, Cheesy Fritatta didn't work this morning, it failed to set up. Quite disappointing to have to throw food away! Several years ago I lost around 80 pounds on a low fat diet called Don't Eat Your Heart out. That book was more explicit in what the rules were, etc. There are two more S. Beach diet books to come out soon, a cook book and a book of food lists so perhaps it will become more clear then. Not sure if I will invest in purchasing them, will probably look in the library instead. My husband's cardiac and ortho docs recommended this, along with many friends who have tried it and are happy with it. I'm hoping for the same, we'll see. It does seem more sensible than the Adkins. Well, now I've had my say, anyone else? And any S. Beach type recipes you have come up with?
