Condensed milk caramel explosion
Misc.Posted by: Char on Monday November 2nd 1998 10:54:25 AMTony wrote that condensed milk cans in Australia tend to explode if boiled on the stove. So do American cans! I foolishly tried a 1970's crock pot recipe for "silky caramel slices." Hahahahahaha! After 3 hours the dratted can exploded. It took four hours to wash down the ceiling, walls and floor. Sticky dark brown caramel went everywhere. I was using the standard Bordens brand sold in USA. Perhaps they've changed the way they manufacture their cans during the last 20 plus years?
