I just wanted to post that I did try several methods of storing my herbs since I first asked for help. I tackled the job this weekend and it seemed pretty easy. Since I had so many herbs and so much of every thing I tried a little bit of each way I could think of.
I made 2 plates of each herb chopped and not chopped (whole leaves) I labeled them and covered them with a paper towel and placed them in an undisturbed area. (I used the tops of my cupboards) The chopped herbs dried very fast maybe 1 or 2 days later. The whole leaves are almost dry it has been about 3 or 4 days now.
Another method I tested was chopping and placing them in freezer bags. I also put the basil in with some garlic and oil as suggested by a user on this site. They look beautiful and fresh.
The last method I tested was placing a few leaves in the microwave at a time for a few seconds. I read this on the internet. However, my leaves started on fire!!!!!! So be warned! I do not recommend this.
Thanks for the tips. Lizzy
