I don't know much about corrian but from what you have said it sounds like that is exactly hwat you want so... couldn't you buy a scrape piece? maybe sand the sides?
I know that I have purchased scrape pieces of formica at home depot. I might try this as well I am always looking for the right kind of coutting board. I do not like the plastic ones that are bacteria resistant because they have texture. I have a marble one have you tried those? they are HEAVY!!
Would Corrian be lighter?
