Hello Jean,

It's nice to hear from you. We've been enjoying The American Century Cookbook and it's feature here has been well received. It was especially helpful as a reference when visitors were asking questions during millenium party planning. In regards to gingerbread - just in case you haven't seen it yet, we have a Gingerbread House Workshop section which includes a link to an article on the history of gingerbread.

There are also some interesting enclyclopedia excerpts and references to Hansel and Gretel on this page: Annie's Gingerbread Page

I know that Bon Appetit and Good Housekeeping have annual Gingerbread House Contests, but finding the smaller contests may be a challenge. A net search for "gingerbread house contest" brought up a few but most were for previous years. Maybe our visitors will have more info to share.
