Recipe: Zebra Brownies (using Pillsbury Brownie Mix and cream cheese)

FOR THE FILLING:
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
FOR THE BROWNIES:
1 (22 1/2 oz.) pkg. Pillsbury fudge brownie mix
1/3 cup very hot tap water
1/3 cup oil
1 egg
Heat oven to 350 degree oven F. Generously grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan.
In a small bowl blend all filling ingredients; beat at medium speed, until smooth, about 1 minute. Set aside.
Combine all brownie ingredients and beat about 50 strokes with a spoon.
Spread half of batter in prepared pan. Pour filling over batter and spread to cover. Place spoonfuls of batter over top of cream cheese mixture. Marble by pulling knife through batter in wide curves, then turn pan and repeat.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool. For ease in cutting, refrigerate at least 1 hour. Cover tightly and store in refrigerator.
