Gwendolyn, re: Hanukkah (more)

Misc.

If the family doesn't keep kosher, in which case they would only buy certain groceries and only eat food made by other people who keep kosher, fudge would be great. The tradition is to give those chocolate coins as in the old days the rabbis would travel around at this time and be given some coins (whatever the families could afford) as payment. However, every child is inundated with chocolate coins so something different would be great. Enjoy the party, we are also having some non-Jewish people at ours. I am swooning thinking of all the latkes we have to make for about 25 people!! I have also made other fried food for a change and because it could be made in advance, unlike latkes which are best served fresh.
Happy holidays!
