Recipe: Mandarin House Restaurant Fried Garlic Chicken Wings (with beer batter)

FRIED GARLIC CHICKEN WINGS

2 pounds chicken wing pieces
FOR THE BATTER:
1/4 cup beer
1 egg
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons garlic salt
1 dash white pepper
Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Par boil chicken until well cooked (this reduces the amount of fat absorbed during frying). Drain and cool.

Mix ingredients for the batter together. Add chicken and toss to coat. Cover and chill 1/2 hour.

Deep fry chicken in vegetable oil at 425 degrees F until golden brown.

Makes 4 to 6 servings
