How Chelsea Buns got their name
Misc.ADVERTISEMENT
To those folk wishing to know why Chelsea buns are so called. Just off the Pimlico Road not far from Sloane Square in London is a thoroughfare named Bunhouse Place. This is the sole reminder of the famous Chelsea bunhouse that stood there until the mid 1800s. The bunhouse was so famous for the quality of its wares that King George 111 and members of the royal family would go there in person to buy. The daily output of the bakery was numbered in thousands of buns.
