i've had both

Misc.

Now that I think about it I have had both. I had a slow cooker from westbend that was the griddle type. I never cook on the griddle. the pan was aluminum and with glass lid, rectangleur shape.
my crock pots have been round and a big as I could get., metal outdside and ceramic(?) crock part that was removable.
YES for sure you wan ta removable one.
I like my crock pot best -- hey jo -- BECAUSE it take longer! funny how different wwe all are :) I REALLY like putting somthing in in the am and not thinking aobut it at all till I eat again. With the slow cooker I would worry that it was burning, although I finally did figure it out. I liked that my slow cooker was a little smaller and that I could remember 1/2 way throughthe day that i needed dinner on ... but that was rare. WHAT I really liked was having BOTH. i would fill both on a regular basis and take the slow cooker one to a friend as a "hello it's be nice thinking about ya" kind of a thing. that was fun. but most folks do not need a huge crock of food and this slow cooker was easy to transport, i'd invert the lid before travel and place bread or tea or whatever in it. she could then place in her oven to wait for others to arrive. not so easy with a crock pot, you would HAVE to take the base of the crock pot.
so what do you want to do with yours? are you an early planner or little later in the day? Oh another thing I put a lot of frozen only slightly thawed meat in my crock pot but not in the slow cooker. Crock cooks it slow cooker didn';t
so do you use frozen meats??
most recipes are interchangable and that part comes with expirance. it is the cooking time that varies.
I left my slow cooker with my friend (the one i gave meals too the most, she struggled so somtimes, we all have our burdens) She did comment once that her hubby did not like crock pots when i suggested she get one, didn't like the crock pot flavor mixes (whatever that meant) but then I ignored and started to bring this slow cooker with pot roast and such and he never complained, ACTUALLY really like them!! so maybe there is a difference to the highly difined tasts ...maybe i need to get another slow cooker need to minister around here maybe...
thanks for the chat
