Hi Janice,

This sounds like a pretty workable menu. You can prepare the sushi in advance (leave at room temperature, or if it contains raw fish, prepare the rice and leave at room temperature, and slice and refrigerate the fish until the last minute). Teriyaki chicken can be marinated in advance and coked at the last minute, or cooked ahead and served at room temperature (refrigerate, then bring to room temperature before serving). The salad of course can be made in advance. The only thing that really needs to be made at the last minute is the miso soup.

What kind of salad are you thinking of? An East-West dressing or a real Japanese salad like cucumbers in vinegar dressing? Let me know and I can post a recipe.

Ice cream would be nice for dessert, especially if you can get green tea flavor ice cream. Or just serve fresh fruit.
