More on Cheerios

Misc.
Dear Ashley-

About the Cheerios, you are correct in thinking they are a dry breakfast cereal. They are shaped like a small circle or little tire if you like I suppose that they are made of corn or a combination of grains. I've never looked at the ingredient list. They are use in a savory snack called "Nuts and Bolts" which has pretzel sticks, mixed nuts other dry cereals, butter, garlic salt and some other seasons which are then mixed and toasted in the oven. I suppose that you could crumble them up and use them like dry bread crumbs. They are very popular with mothers of toddlers as a non-messy snack. Many young mothers carry a zip lock baggy in their purse with filled with Cheerios for their little ones. As to why someone would have a "ton" of them, I don't have a clue. Although if I bought a box of them I would be hunting for ways to use them up myself because I really don't like eating them as breakfast cereal. I liked them as a child, but now.... I hope that explanation helps a little.
