Need Help with baking cakes in a jar.

Misc.

Last year at Christmas everyon was talking about baking quick bread in canning jars. I searched the TKL search and got lots of useful suggestions, but they say use 12oz wide mouth jars. I can't find 12oz. jars only 16 oz. jars. Do you think these will work and just cook a little longer. If you have any suggestions on where I can find the 12oz. jars or how to use the 16 oz. jars, please let me know! I really want to make these neat cake in a jar for Xmas thinking of you gifts this Xmas.

If your thinking of making these for gifts buy your jars NOW, I couldn't find any at Christmas time last year! They only stock them in this area as a summer seasonal item.

Thanks for any help!
