Jar cake jars

Misc.

I plan to make jar cakes this year too, but I've never made them before. I found that my local grocery store carried the 12 oz Ball Quilted Crystal-#14400-81400. The national dept stores didn't and I check a couple of chains.

If you only have 16 oz, you would fill 1/2 full (do one as a test) & adjust your baking time. The cake should rise to only 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the lip of the jar. You should be okay with the bigger size, but you'll need to experiment. Remember, I've never done this before & I'm just estimating what I would do. Good luck!!
