re: Chart House Lava Cake - recipe didn't work

Misc.
BEWARE! This recipe calls for too much flour! That's why the batter turns out "fudge like." I measured everything just so and followed the recipe exactly. I too had a batter that was more like fudge than batter. I tossed the whole mess! I am not a baker so the measurements didn't send up a red flag for me as they probably would for avid bakers. I'm VERY aggravated and disappointed! The bittersweet chocolate I bought is not exactly cheap and it ended up in the garbage can. I decided to check some other lava cake recipes online and none of them call for more than ONE cup of flour. This one calls for 3 cups!! It's TOO MUCH flour!

I'll try again tomorrow - once I buy more bittersweet chocolate - and will try a different recipe!

A note from Betsy at Recipelink:
Thank you for letting us know, that's disappointing. Lisa also reported a problem with it and I think you're correct that the flour amount looks wrong - I've added a warning note about it right in the Chart House recipe posting.
