re: keeping brown sugar soft

Misc.
I have tried the half of an apple but I find it starts to rot and grow fur :(

And I do the microwave thing but it takes minutes not seconds and still i have the break up rocks :(

I will try the plastic bag but I'm sure I have done.

I like the idea of making my own brown sugar when needed, I didn't know it was that easy. Just wondering why the warning against using it in cakes.
