Re: Mother's Day Banquet dessert.s

Misc.

Linda:

This sounds like fun..the men cooking for the moms and daughters. I would tend to go for fun food. I am going to sound like a broken record because I have posted this to other inquiries, but how about dessert pizzas. This would give the men the ability to create as they cook. If you scroll down this message board, you will find many recipies for dessert pizzas. Some are loaded with chocolate (even the crust is chocolate), and some have fruit toppings. You could have them shape the crusts in rectangles, rather than circles, so the pieces can be cut into rectangles for easier serving.

And, there is always the yummy white chocolate dessert posted below, also.

This could also be a great event for the cookie party. At this event you would have each man bring one dozen home-made cookies that they cooked at home. All of the cookies are brought to the event and put onto larger platters. This becomes a delightful display and feast. Some of your non-cooking participants could bring fresh strawberries that can be used for garnishing the platters. With your 100 guests, you may end up with 30 to 40 (more or less) different cookie recipes at your event. This would also take the pressure off of last-minute cooking.

And, Happy Mother's Day.
