re: the 1956 betty crocker cook book...

i love that cookbook, i grew up using my moms. i've looked for YEARS for one... the original, not the NEW one... it just wasn't the same! never found one. until now! i went to cracker barrel restaurant last month and in their little store in the front there is a stand with cook books on it... they had one! it is an official word for word reprint of the original 1956 betty crocker cook book! exactly! the only thing different is the intro page where they explain that it is a reprint and then the disclaimer about how some ingredients and amounts have changed with the time so watch your salt and fat intake, etc. lol it was $39.95.. but it's the best $40 i've spent in a long time! just thought i'd let you know since you were searching for a recipe from that particular book. hope it was ok to post this.
