sweet from dill pickles

Misc.
The recipe is for making and storing in fridge, not canning them, they would be mushy, I am afraid to reprocess them. Not safe to just seal without water bathing.
1 qt. kosher dill pickles
cold water 3-4 cardomom seeds
2 1/2 c. sugar
Drain pickles, soak in cold water for 1/2 hour.
Dry and slice thin. Add 1 cup sugar 3-4 broken cardomom seeds. Add 1/2 cup sugar on second day. Add 1/2 c. sugar on 3rd day.Add 1/4 cup sugar on 4th day. Remove seeds and put in jars.
Never tried this, just found recipe in old church cookbook.
