ISO: Sweet Pickles from Dill/Sour pickles

Is anyone familiar with making sweet pickles from dill or sour pickles. Start with gallon whole store bought pickles, add sugar, spices, etc. Problem is you don't cook the pickles. You let them stand for 3 days, sugar turns to liquid. Question is will the jars seal if I boil the jars and lids but add room temp. pickles. Need some help. Thanks.
