Tips: Calculating Protein Needs

Misc.

In order to calculate protein needs: take your daughter's ideal weight and divide it by 2.2(wt. in Kg) , Multiply that number by .8. The result will be her daily requirement.
The standard American diet introduces about twice the protein needed or is healthy for anyone. There is more than adequate protein available in the plant kingdom. Introduce your daughter to the myriad of soyfoods now on the market. There are so many new and tasty meat analogs like Veggie canadian Bacon, Gimme lean Sausage & ground beef, tofu hot dogs, etc. Soyfoods are nutrient rich and high in quality protein. According to the USDA: Soyfoods deliver the same quality protein as meat, milk, or eggs.
Hope this helps
