Recipe: Evaporated Milk Substitutes

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
Hi Debby,

Here are some possible substitutions for evaporated milk:

light cream / half & half
or:
heavy cream diluted with milk (half of each)
or:
2/3 cup powdered milk plus 1 cup water
or:
1/3 cup powdered milk plus 1 cup milk

Using powdered milk may change the taste. If it's not too late you could use a pumpkin pie recipe that doesn't use evaporated milk:

Pumpkin Pie Using Milk and Cornstarch

Pumpkin Pie Using Sweetened Condensed Milk

Copycat recipe for Marie Callender's Pumpkin Pie Using Milk

Moosewood Restaurant Pecan Pumpkin Pie Using Milk

Instant Pumpkin Pie Using Milk and Pudding Mix

I hope that's a help!
