ISO: Baker's Bakery (not) White Frosting for Date and Nut Cake

Would like to try the recipe at the link mentioned by Doug for Date and Nut cake (With) White frosting (click here and scroll down the page to view the recipe) but I am not sure the complete list of ingredients is shown? Instructions for the frosting state: combine butter, shortening, sugar, salt and vanilla but the ingredients do not include the shortening or the amount of same. Does this mean you can use butter or shortening or does the recipe need both? Thank You to anyone who can clarify.
