APPLE BACON SALAD
"Bacon and tangy lemon dressing blend with apple in this sweet-tart salad fresh from the orchard."
8 ounces bacon slices
1/2 cup salad oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 red apples, cored, cut into bite-size pieces
1 small head of lettuce, torn
1 cup croutons
3 green onions, sliced
In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove from pan; drain on paper towels. Crumble bacon; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add apples; toss to coat. Add lettuce, croutons, green onions and bacon. Toss until combined.
Makes 6 side-dish servings
