Recipe(tried): Baked Apples

Misc.

Thanks for reminding me! I haven't made these in years. I used to put them on to cook on a Saturday night so the kids could have them Sunday morning before we went to church. They're now married with kids of their own. The recipe is from the booklet that came with my very first crockpot probably 25 years ago -- long before they had the lift-out liner!

6-8 medium, unpeeled baking apples, washed and cored
1 T. raisins
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
2 T. butter
1/2 c. water

Mix raisins, cinnamon and sugar. Fill centers of apples. Dot with butter. Stack apples in crock pot to fit. Add water. Cover and cook overnight or 8-9 hours.

(Hint: Working from the bottom of each apple, place a bit of butter to "close" the hole. Then add sugar mixture from the top and seal with more butter. This keeps the sugar mixture fram falling out all over the place when you're stacking the apples!)

Have fun!
