Recipe(tried): BLT Salad for BrendaTX

This is good especially if you have some good summertime tomatoes. This is more method than exact recipe. You can adjust proportions according to your taste.

BLT Salad

3 or 4 slices of bread cubed and toasted in a frying pan. (I usually spray with a little olive oil and and dust with onion and garlic powder.

1/2 pound bacon cut in 1" pieces and fried crisp

1-2 tomatoes, cut up

1-2 heads of lettuce, chopped

green onion or some type of sweet onion, chopped

Dressing:

2 cups Hellman's Mayo
1/2 cup cider vinager
1/2 cup sugar
dash of fresh ground pepper or Tony Cachere's creole sesoningTo assemble:

If I am taking this somewhere or just want to make ahead I whisk the dressing in the bottom of a large bowl. I then put the tomatoes and onion in and then the lettuce on top without mixing. Then I put the bacon and croutons wrapped in waxed paper on top. Mix it all immediately before serving. You could also add cheese if you wanted to.
