CABBAGE RAISIN SOUP

6 strips of bacon, coarsely chopped
1 onion, coarsely chopped
3 potatoes, cut into small chunks.
1 (2 or 3 lbs) head of cabbage
1 (28 oz.) canned tomatoes, crushed.
8 cups beef broth.
1 lb. kielbasa, cut 1/2-inch slices.
1/2 cup dark raisins
1 tsp. sweet paprika, or more to taste

Cook down bacon and onion.

Chop cabbage into chunks and add to bacon and onions.

Cook for 5 minutes, turning to coat the cabbage.

Add broth, potatoes and tomatoes. Cook 10 minutes.

Stir in kielbasa, raisins, and paprika. Cook 3 minutes. Serve.

NOTE: Paprika and raisins quantity may be varied to taste. The sweet paprika adds a smokey flavor, not heat.
