Recipe: Cranapple Crunch/Apple Cranberry Crisp

Hi Pat,

Here are a couple of recipes from our archives. I haven't tried them, but the original posters have.

Cranapple Crunch Casserole

3 cups raw apples, peeled & chopped
2 cups raw cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup oatmeal (uncooked)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted margarine
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup chopped pecans

Combine apples, cranberries and white sugar in a 2 quart casserole dish.
Top with mixed remaining ingredients.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until bubbly and light brown.
Best served hot.
Serves 8

Apple-Cranberry Crisp

2/3 c. oatmeal(old-fashioned)
3 T. flour
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 T.+1tsp. margerine,melted
3 T. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. apples,peeled and sliced 1/4-inch thick(about 4 medium apples)
1 1/2 T. lemon juice
1 c. fresh cranberries

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In small bowl,combine oats,flour, and 1/3c.
of the brown sugar. Stir in melted margerine and set aside.
Mix the remaining 1/3c. brown sugar with the cornstarch and cinnamon
in a large bowl;blend.Add the apples, lemon juice and cranberries; toss well.
Place fruit mixture in a 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle the oatmeal mixture
on top. Bake until apples are tender but not mushy and the top is slightly
browned, about 35 to 45 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Serves 6.
