Recipe: Cream of Tomato Soup (Oster blender recipe, 1950's)

CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP

2 cups milk
2 1/2 cups tomatoes
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 thin slice onion
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of garlic salt

Heat the milk in a saucepan.

Put the remaining ingredients in the blender container. Cover and process at Hi speed until smooth.

Slowly pour the tomato mixture into the hot milk while beating with a rotary beater. Heat thoroughly. Do not boil. Serve immediately with croutons.

Makes 2 3/4 cups
