Recipe: Crumb Cake

Crumb Cake

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sweet milk
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
2 eggs

Mix flour, sugar and Crisco together good. Take out 1/2
cup or 1 cup for crumbs for top of the cake. Add sweet milk,
baking powder and eggs. Mix together good. Use 1 pan.
Sprinkle crumbs over top, then sprinkle cinnamon to taste.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.


CRUMB CAKE
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda

Mix sugar, flour and butter like pie crust. Take out
one cup and set aside. Mix egg, buttermilk and soda in remain-
ing crust. Stir and put in pan. Take the cup of crust and
cover top. Bake at 375 degrees for 1/2 hour or more until nicely
browned.
