Recipe: Garlic and Herb Crostini with Wintertime Bruschetta (using canned diced tomato)

GARLIC AND HERB CROSTINI

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 loaf crusty bread, sliced into 1/2-inch slices

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

To make crostini, combine olive oil, garlic salt and Italian herb seasoning. Brush over sliced bread.

Bake for 10 minutes until crostini are lightly browned and crisp.

Top with bruschetta.

WINTERTIME BRUSCHETTA

1 (14 1/2 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes, drained
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon finely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine all Bruschetta ingredients. Chill until ready to serve.

Makes 24 servings
