Appetizers and Snacks
MINI TACO CALZONES
"Great taco flavors in a mini calzone."

2 cans (7.5 ounces each) buttermilk refrigerator biscuit dough
12 ounces lean ground beef
1 package Durkee Original Taco Seasoning Mix
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell peppers
2/3 cup chopped tomato
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey or Colby Jack cheese

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain off fat. Stir in 2/3 cup water and taco seasoning. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add green pepper, tomato and onion.

Roll each piece of biscuit dough out into a 4-inch circle. Place on a greased baking sheet. Spoon about 1 1/2 tablespoons of beef mixture into the center of each circle. Top with shredded cheese. Fold dough over filling. Press edges together and seal with fingers or a fork.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
