Recipe(tried): German Cucumbers and Onion in Sour Cream

GERMAN CUCUMBERS AND ONION IN SOUR CREAM

3 large onions
3 cucumbers
1 tablespoon non-iodized salt
1/2 pint (1 cup) sour cream
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon mild paprika (for garnish)

Slice peeled cucumbers and onions very thin. Put in bowl and sprinkle with salt. Set aside for several minutes.

Blend sour cream, sugar, and vinegar.

Squeeze cucumbers and onions with hands and discard water that has collected. stir into sour cream mixture. Refrigerate until cold.

At table, sprinkle the paprika over the top.
