Thank You: Old Fashioned Cucumber Onion Salad

I have been experimenting with what I thought were the combination of ingredients for a cucumber onion salas which my mother prepared often. She didn't write it down and did not pay enough attention. I came close but finding a specific recipe brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
