Recipe: German Turkey Mini Meatballs (The Slim Gourmet, 1980's)
Appetizers and SnacksGERMAN TURKEY MINI MEATBALLS
2 pounds fat-trimmed ground turkey
1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh rosemary (or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried)
2 teaspoons fresh sage (or 1/2 teaspoon ground dried)
2 teaspoons salt (or smoke-flavored salt)
1 teaspoon crushed (or ground) coriander seeds
1 teaspoon sugar, optional
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash of Tabasco sauce
Combine ingredients and mix lightly. Shape into 32 tiny meatballs. Arrange on shallow non-stick baking pan sprayed liberally with cooking spray.
Bake uncovered in 450 degree F oven for about 5 minutes. Serve immediately with party picks.
Makes 32 meatballs, 55 calories each
