Recipe: Jan's Power Balls (no bake, using oats, food processor)

Appetizers and Snacks
POWER BALLS

"My friend Jan shared her recipe for these protein-packed, no-bake snacks. I keep them in the fridge and will pack a few in a plastic bag to keep in my purse, so if I get stuck out running errands, I don't have the temptation to head for the drive-through. They tide me over and provide good fats. The sweetness of the honey and those little chocolate chips make me feel like I'm treating myself for making a good food choice."

2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup extra-crunchy peanut butter
1/2 cup raw honey
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup roasted, salted sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons wheat germ

In a food processor, pulse the oats, peanut butter, honey, cranberries, chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, and wheat germ until fully combined. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Using your hands, form balls (about 1 1/2 tablespoons each) and place on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Trisha tip:
Use organic wheat germ and raw honey from where you live if possible. It's so good for you!
