Appetizers and SnacksCHEESE DIP OR SPREAD
2 pkgs. (3 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
1/8 lb. butter (4 tbsp.), softened
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. capers, chopped
1 tsp. finely chopped onion/chives
1 tsp. anchovy paste
Generous dash paprika and salt
Mix in blender. Best prepared ahead to allow flavors to blend. Chill to serve, dip or spread on crackers.
NAN'S SPREAD OR DIP
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp. milk
1 small can anchovies, drained and mashed
1 scant cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (less if dehydrated)
3 tbsp. chopped chives
Small amount grated onion
2 tsp. capers (or more)
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 to 1 garlic clove, crushed
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix ingredients together. Make ahead at least early in the day or 24 hours. Serve with crackers.
