Recipe: High Protein Bars
Misc. HIGH PROTEIN BARS
1 c. salad oil
1 1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. corn syrup
juice and pulp of 3 oranges
5 beaten eggs
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c. soy flour
1/2 c. dry milk powder
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats
1 c. wheat germ
1/2 tsp. soda
Beat eggs in large mixing bowl. Add oil, honey, corn
syrup and oranges. Beat well. Blend together wheat flour, soy
flour, dry milk, spices and remaining dry ingredients; blend
well. Pour into greased 12 x 18-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40
minutes. When cool, cut into bars and wrap in plastic wrap or
foil and store in freezer. Excellent high energy food for
backpacking or nutritious snack for growing children. You can
use 2 cups honey and omit the corn syrup. For variation, add
1 1/2 cups raisins.
