Recipe: Honey Hoisin Chicken (crock pot)

HONEY HOISIN CHICKEN

2 1/2 to 3 pounds chicken pieces
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons dry white wine
1 tablespoon grated gingerroot
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
sesame seeds toasted

Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels.

Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, wine, ginger, salt and pepper.

Dip each piece of chicken into sauce; then place in a3 1/2 quart slow cooker. Pour remaining sauce over chicken.

Cover and cook on LOW about 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender.

Turn control to HIGH. Remove chicken from slow cooker and keep warm.

Dissolve cornstarch in cold water. Stir mixture into juices in slow cooker.

Cover and cook on HIGH 15-20 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Spoon sauce over chicken and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Makes 5-6 servings
