All you have to do is rinse the bird inside (make sure all the ice is rinsed out) I use paper towels to soak up any liquid that may be on the floor of it and then rinse the outside and dry also. The bag of giblets and the neck is usually in the neck end of the turkey but yours could be in the other end; they are in a paper bag and you can cook these for an hour or so for gravy broth. Cut them up for the gravy or throw them away like I do. I don't like giblet pieces in my gravy.
For the turkey, use a shiny roasting pan with a rack in the bottom for best results and so the drippings won't burn. After roasting turkeys for several years I learned this from Sara Moulton on Food TV and it is good advice. Good luck with your bird it will be great.
