JACKIE OLDEN'S ROAST TURKEY - SLOW COOKING METHOD

Rub turkey inside and out with butter. Sprinkle inside and out with salt and pepper. Place (unstuffed) on roasting rack breast side down.

Roast at 275 degrees F for 23 minutes per pound or until the meat thermometer reaches 175 degrees F. Do not baste, tent or turn. Allow 30 minutes for turkey to set before carving.

Note: Time may change for very large or small turkeys - rely on thermometer for doneness.
