Recipe(tried): KIPFEL

This is my family's favorite Christmas cookie! I have been making them every Christmas season since the 1950's. I use pecans but you could substitute walnuts if you prefer. Hope it is the recipe you are looking for!

KIPFEL

1 cup butter (no substitutes)
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 cup pecans, finely chopped
Confectioners' sugar

Cream butter and 1/3 cup sugar; add vanilla and salt. Stir in flour and pecans; mix thoroughly. Chill until easily handled without sticking to your fingers.
Roll into logs, then form into crescent shapes.
Bake 10-15 minutes (just until beginning to brown lightly on the bottom) at 400 degrees F. Dust with confectioners' sugar while warm. (These are very fragile and break easily, but they are delicious! Almost melt in your mouth!)
