My "adult" children invite me to their home every Thursday nite to make my "famous" Survivor Mac'n'Cheeese! I threw this recipe together from a combination of Macaroni and Cheese recipes that I found on-line. It got the name of "Survivor Mac'n'Cheese" because I make it every week and we have it for dinner while watching the CBS Show - Survivor. They beg me to come over and make this dish - we all love it!
Survivor Mac & Cheese
In Chef Pan:
Saute: 1/2 stick butter
2 medium onions (chopped)
Add: 1/8 cup flour to thicken
Add: 2 cups milk and heat through
Cut In: 8 oz. pkg. Velvetta Cheese - cut in small chunks;
Stir until cheese melts into the milk.
*May also add: Approximately cup shredded White Sharp Cheddar
(Washington State University Natural Cougar Gold is best)
Bring to a boil and let it thicken.
Add In: 1 lb. box of Macaroni of your choice, cooked
(I like P&R Trio Italiano or Medium Shells)
Serves 4-6 people.
