Recipe: Million Dollar Spaghetti (casserole using Hunt's Tomato Sauce, cream cheese, and sour cream)

7 to 10 oz. thin spaghetti
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 tbsp. butter
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cans (8 oz. each) Hunt's Tomato Sauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 lb. cottage cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
4 to 5 chopped scallions
1 tbsp minced green bell pepper
2 tbsp. butter, melted (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook spaghetti according to directions on package; drain and set aside.
Brown meat in butter; season with salt and pepper. Drain off any fat and ddd tomato sauce; set aside.
Combine the cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, scallions, and bell pepper.
In a 2-quart casserole, layer half of the spaghetti, all of the cheese mixture, remainder of spaghetti
Top the spaghetti with the 2 tbsp. melted butter (if using) and all of the meat mixture.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
May be prepared ahead of time and chilled. Remove from refrigerator 20 minutes before baking.
